The Ravens took a 13-0 halftime lead and forced St. Louis to throw the ball more than they probably would have liked. That allowed Baltimore to put more pressure on quarterback Gus Frerotte. Matt Stover kicked a pair of fourth-quarter field goals to give Baltimore a 19-point lead, which the defense was not going to relinquish.

Game ball
Ravens nose tackle Kelly Gregg was a disruptive force on the defense. Gregg had a couple of tackles for loss, including a sack, and helped put pressure on Frerotte in the Ravens' record-setting day. Baltimore had four sacks, 12 hurries and knocked down Frerotte five times. Stover gets a game ball for being perfect on all five field goal attempts. The St. Louis defense deserves a game ball here, limiting Baltimore to five field goal attempts, even though the Ravens had great field position the entire afternoon from a host of turnovers.
